About

Two organisations, one shared creative environment.

Wooly Wood Shop and Creative Chaos CIC share a creative environment in Stockton-on-Tees, where commercial creative activity and community-benefit work can happen side-by-side.

How it fits together

Distinct purposes, with room to collaborate.

The two organisations remain distinct, with different purposes. Where appropriate, they can share skills, equipment, creative ideas, experience and practical resources.

Some projects and activities may also be joint or collaborative. Visitors do not need to work out the organisational structure first — the site is designed to help you find the right route for what you want to make, join, commission or discuss.

What can be shared

Skills, ideas and practical resources

Where it makes sense, the two organisations can share creative skills, equipment, experience, practical resources and ideas. Joint projects can draw on those strengths without making the organisations the same thing.

What stays distinct

Purpose and public route

Commercial services and bookings remain distinguishable from CIC community-benefit work. Where an activity is collaborative, we can say so clearly rather than forcing every project into one box.

Accessibility & inclusion

A welcoming approach to creative participation.

We believe creative making should be welcoming and open to as many people as possible. We have experience supporting children, families and people with additional needs, including SEN, and we adapt creative instruction where appropriate to support different learning styles and participation needs.

If you or someone in your group has specific access, sensory or learning requirements, please contact us before attending. We’re happy to discuss what would help and what adjustments may be possible for the activity or venue.

Where would you like to go next?
